Rugby Gateway

SEGRO Logistics Park, Rugby is located at Junction 1 of the M6 motorway. It is 120 acres in size and was completed in 2017. The site is fully let and occupied by DHL, Amazon and H&M.

BCA were appointed in 2013 to develop detailed and reserved matters planning proposals for landscape areas and subsequently in conjunction with Whiting Landscape Ltd. though the Design/Build partnership to produce detailed earthworks and planting plans for construction purposes.

Working in association with project Ecologists and Arboriculturalists, a landscape scheme was developed which incorporates existing woodland, boundary trees and vegetation and provides extensive areas of woodland and thicket planting along the boundaries of two distinct development plateaus to help assimilate the built development into the landscape.

This is supplemented with ornamental planting and tree lined boulevard structural landscape along the main access road towards the southern margin of the site.

In addition, extensive areas of wildflower/ grassland form transitional fringes along the edge of development boundaries to enhance ecology and biodiversity along with wetland habitat planting areas along the western margin of the site where the main attenuation basins are situated.

The landscape scheme was implemented between 2014 and 2016 by Whiting Landscape Ltd. and provides an attractive and appropriate landscape setting for a Logistics development less than three miles from Rugby town centre and immediately adjacent to the national motorway network.
